Garuda Indonesia’s history has a close connection with the history of the nation’s struggles. Garuda Indonesia began its first commercial services under the name “Indonesian Airways”. It was during a time of change and upheaval for the country, which was struggling to maintain its independence. The company’s first aircraft, a DC3 named Seulawah (Gold Mountain) was donated by the people of Aceh to help in the campaign for independence, and it played a vital role in the struggle.More recently, Garuda Indonesia, along with the country as a whole, has undergone a period of dynamic change. Garuda Indonesia has continued its efforts to improve its services and to provide safe comfortable and reliable air transportation services. Through those efforts, Garuda Indonesia has now succeeded in improving its performance in the areas of on-time departures, load factors and yield, and the company recently returned to a position of positive cash flow and operating profit.
Garuda Indonesia also realizes that the business challenges of the future will be increasingly complex and difficult. Consequently, Garuda Indonesia is determined to improve its quality in all aspects of the company’s activities, and to prepare for privatization which will be realized in the near future. LION AIR
Firstly, Lion Air operated the 42D Yak aircraft and B737-200. In 2001 Lion Air operated A310-300.
To accommodate the high demand of air transportation, Lion Air chose MD-80 series aircraft, which is very efficient and also convenience with 165 passenger capacity
Currently, Lion Air has a fleet of 46 aircrafts, consisting of 16 units MD 80-series, 5 units MD 90-series, 10 units B737-400, 2 units B737-300, 3 feeder aircrafts of Dash 8 and 10 units of B737-900ER.
From year 2007 until 2012, 144 aircrafts of B737-900ER will be delivered from the total 178 aircraft ordered to strengthen Lion Air fleets. B737-900ER is the newest member of Next Generation B737 family with the most advanced single aisle commercial airplane in the world.
B737-900ER will enable Lion Air to offer more non stop flight at low fares to more destinations throughout Indonesia and beyond.

Mandala Airlines fly the history all over the archipelago in 1967, when India began to rebuild the economy porak-poranda due to the political and economic problems in the decade of 60's.

Batavia Air began operating on 5 January 2002, and the company behind this flight is Mr. Yudiawan Tansari. As President of Batavia Air, he started with one aircraft Fokker F28 and two Boeing 737-200.
Batavia Air is the national airline operating the plane, the first Airbus A-319 since January 2006. Batavia Air currently operates more than 150 flights each day and serves 29 cities in Indonesia and the purpose of Guangzhou-China and Kuching, Malaysia. Batavia Air has 36 aircraft consisting of Boeing 737-200 aircraft, 737-300, 737-400, Airbus A-319 and Airbus A-320.
